New Camera, New Snapshots

I got a new camera this weekend. No i didn't get a digi. Although i know its in the cards sonner or later.
Instead however, I found a CONTAX T3 at CAMERA ARTS in Sacramento ( a collectors item film camera for those who don't know.) I wanted to test the camera out so on saturday i ran a roll of film through it and took pictures through out the day.

Saturday morning I had breakast

with the BF, (best friend, that is. Duh). JUSTIN

Afterwards, I meet up with my sister and her homegirl at
CUFFS URBAN APPAREL

Mel works at Cuffs. She was kind enough to pose for a shot. Thanks, Mel!

Later that day took this little guy for a walk.

Finished the day off by linking up with CAWZLOS. We went to an
UGLY SHOW
then had drinks for our friends birthday.

Saturday was super eventful and productive. Kicking it with the homies, shooting pictures, eating. These are a few of my favorite things. Anyhow, all in all im happy with my new camera. I just hope that my lab keeps processing film!

Keelay and Zaire

I got together with the homies KEELAY
and ZAIRE of the SOLE VIBE FAMILIA last weekend to take some pictures of the fellas in the studio. The shots below are my digital test shots of the homies. I've know producer extraordinaire KEELAY (left) for a sec now but never had the opportunity to check out his studio until this shoot. He has definately been holding out. His spot is gorgeous, totally picturesque.

Glory Days Photos

Second Saturdays in Sacramento are wild. The cities mid-town galleries, cafe's, hair salons, retail spaces, bars, gyms, and pretty much any place you can hang art work, are filled with people checking out the art scene.
This past second saturday, the homie Josh Smith curated a show at the BODY TRIBE and asked a ton of awesome folks to contribute.
Below are some of the pieces that were in the show.

AUSTIN MCMANUS

JASON MAGGIO

ME

This piece by Jason Gardner was one of my favorites.

The painter Brishen Mahoney had pieces in the show that were incredible. I didn't have my camera to take a picture of his paintings so google him and the rest of the talented bunch who contributed.
Or better yet, if your in Sacramento visit the BODY TRIBE.
Check some art out and get your work out on. Dang.

Photo of the Day

I went to LA about a month a go to photograph the Game for Complex Magazine. Unfortunatly, the Game had to re-schedule because of conflict with a press junket. I purchased a ton of film, (yes i shoot film) and was not gonna let it go to waste so my friend and faithful assistant, Langston and I headed over to my friend, the lovely Krishtine de Leons home and i shot a few rolls of Krish and her adorable baby boy, Kahlil. I didn't get to shoot the Game but i got to kick it with the homies and enjoy a peacful day in LA... i can't be mad at that.
:)
