In Art Eye Trust
I have been a fan of Estevan Oriol's work since I was a student at SFSU. I use to spend time between classes reading magazines at my neighborhood Borders Book Store and his images were always the ones I gravitated to because he has an unmatched ability to pull so much emotion from his subjects. When I moved to LA in 07', he took me on as an intern. While assisting him, I had the opportunity to work on some pretty epic shoots with people like 50cent, Kim Kardashian, and Travis Barker. I learned so much watching Estevan work. Most importantly to always stay true to your own artist vision and that you don't need a bunch of tricks and effects to connect with a subject and make an epic portrait.

Last week I got to photograph him in the LA river as part of a new project I am working on called "In Art Eye Trust." It was an honor to have the opportunity to photograph someone whose work I truly admire and respect. Thanks for your time Estevan! More images and details about the project coming soon.
