Every Thursday i will be sharing a photo of the week with the lovely
MISS CREW and La Vida Loca readers. The photos will be a mixture of new, archived or previously unseen work. To start off the photo week, i decided to pull a shot from the archive. First up, B-FLY. I first photographed B Fly for XXL magazine while i was living in LA. She was so much fun to photograph that we set up a second shoot. Above is the official photo of the week and some out takes from a night of shooting at her hair salon.

I had the pleasure of checking out the incredibly talented
Mr. JESSE BOYKINS last week in Oakland. I heard
he was going to be preforming in the bay so i emailed him
on a whim and asked if i could photograph him. Fortunately,
despite the short notice, he was down. Above are a few of
the shots from the shoot. If you have not heard this mans
music, do your self a favor and check it out HERE.
He is absolutely incredible. Definitely one to watch!

Got a little web love from the lovely folks over at the LEGEND MAGAZINE
Gracias, Legend Familia.
One minor correction however. Although i do heart the bay-bay-bay and consider it to be my home away from home, I am a Sacramento native. Got to representar :) !

My buddy JOHN is working on a book project where he photographs people he finds inspirational. A few weeks ago he hit me up and asked me to be apart of his project. I was blown away and honored. And also a bit hesitant. After all, I am a photographer and my favorite place to be is behind the camera. But i'd do anything for a fellow artist so after some bomb sopes from J's favorite Mexican restaurant in East Oakland, we hit the streets to shoot some photos. Above are a few shots i was able to sneak of John. Below is his capture.
Thanks for making me feel comfortable on the other side of the lens John. Can't wait to see your book homie!
You can check out more of his work HERE
